We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker who can produce and present high quality, evidence-based, analytical assessment reports, to join the Empower Family team.

We specifically looking for self-employed independent social workers to complete Form F Assessments for potential foster carers in the South West of England.

Permanent | Full Time – 40 Hours | Mon – Fri | Salary £28,000 – £36,000 DOE

Are you looking for an exciting and varied new role? Are you a pioneer and able to work on your own initiative? If so, we are looking for you. We need an enthusiastic, independent and skilled social worker to work with both therapeutic and mainstream programmes, including parent and child placements.

​

As Supervising Social Worker, you will have a manageable case load and work within a dedicated team to improve the outcomes and lives of looked after children.

​

Applicants must be Social Work England (SWE) registered, be a qualified Social Worker, be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS, and have a full and valid UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

We are excited to be recruiting additional Independent Fostering Panel members to join our Panel Team. Successful applicants will attend meetings at our offices in Taunton, Somerset or virtually online.

 

The fostering panel provides independent oversight of the recruitment, assessment and review of foster carers and makes reasoned decisions on their suitability to foster.

​

Applicants should have experience either professionally, personally or both of the placement of children in adoptive or foster families or of children being cared for away from their birth family.

Good listening and communication skills are essential along with the ability to make an assessment based on the written and oral information presented to the panel in order to discuss and make decisions in a balanced and informed manner.

​

We would like to have a diverse panel supported by individuals with different skills, experience and backgrounds. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Successful applicants will be required to undertake relevant DBS checks, the cost of which is funded by Empower Fostering.
